Women's Words: Elizabeth Day

Elizabeth Day is an award-winning journalist who has written for the Evening Standard, the Sunday Telegraph, the Mail on Sunday, the Observer, the Guardian, and many more. In 2004 she won the British Press Award for Best Young Journalist, and is the author of Scissors Paper Stone. Her new book, Home Fires, is due to be published in 2013.

We asked her to tell us in a single sentence what feminism means to her.

"Feminism should be about challenging inequality and lazy cultural assumptions with a strength of purpose, a generosity of spirit and - importantly - a sense of humour."
